Stephen A. Malley JD

Attorney-at-law
Law Offices of Stephen A. Malley

Stephen A. Malley JD specializes in the areas of international tax, estate and asset protection  planning.   His practice includes international finance, tax treaty applications, and tax advantaged business structures. He forms and implements both U.S. and “offshore”  corporations, Trusts, Foundations, partnerships, limited liability companies and other structures relevant to the particular countries and objectives.

Mr. Malley counsels families and individuals with assets in and/or outside the U.S. to maximize tax opportunities, to implement estate planning and asset protection goals, and for pre-immigration tax planning. He counsels non-U.S. families with U.S. beneficiaries to maximize long- term tax opportunities.

Mr. Malley structures tax advantaged offshore insurance facilities, including, “captive” casualty insurance companies which can achieve both  tax- deductable premium payments and their tax- advantaged return. Private placement life insurance arrangements can afford  substantial asset protection to premiums and  to income- tax free offshore earnings. Insurance proceeds can be   estate- tax free. Offshore insurance structures offer significant planning opportunities to offset the harsh U.S. estate tax treatment to non-U.S. citizen spouses married to U.S. citizens.

He advises both U.S. and foreign companies on international licensing, international transfers of intellectual property, and royalty arrangements to take advantage of tax treaties.
