Jaime E. Aleman

Chairman

Mr. Jaime Aleman is the Chairman of the Board of Aleman, Cordero, Galindo & Lee Trust (BVI) Limited, one of the oldest and most active trust companies in the BVI. Aleman Trust has a world-wide clientele consisting primarily of banks, trust companies, law firms and accounting firms from Europe, Asia, and the Americas, for which it provides company formation and trustee services.

Mr. Aleman is also the Senior Partner of Aleman, Cordero, Galindo & Lee, one of the leading banking and commercial law firms in Panama. The firm represents many important multinational companies that do business in Panama, including Cable & Wireless; Shell; Evergreen International; IBM; Panama Canal Railway Company; Philip Morris; Kraft Foods; Siemens; Citibank, and BBVA, among others.

Mr. Aleman is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame (B.A. in Economics, magna cum laude, 1975), and obtained his Juris Doctorate degree from Duke University (1978). He is a member of the District of Columbia and Panama Bar Associations; of the Society of Trusts and Estate Practitioners; and of the International Tax Planning Association (ITPA).

He is also a former President of the International Lawyers Association of Panama, and a founding shareholder and member of the board of directors of Banistmo, which was recently acquired by HSBC. He served as Minister of Government and Justice of Panama in 1988.
